Our most popular workshop, and sells out quickly!

About the workshop

Macrame is a fun and easy crafting activity that has seen a resurgence over the past few years. This workshop will teach you some of the basic knots used in macrame, and how you can use them to make a stylish and practical plant hanger. If you already have a decorative plant pot that you’d like to hang, bring it along so you can make your hanger to size.

At the end of workshop, participants will learn how to make macrame feathers or leaves from the leftover trimmings, which can be turned into earrings, broaches, or decorative pieces.

This is a great activity for beginner crafters, and all materials are supplied.

About the artist

Fee Sievers lives in Eltham with a menagerie of pets. She fills her spare time with hands-on crafts she can drag out and enjoy anytime, including macrame, crochet, sewing, polymer clay and writing. Fee first tried macrame as a kid in the 80s, making the trendy item of the decade: a brown owl. She’s thrilled that macrame has now made a comeback, complete with a modern new look, lovely coloured cords and great patterns to be inspired by.
